The Odyssey by Homer

Once there lived a king who ruled a small island called Ithaca. His name was Odysseus. He sailed away from Ithaca to Trojan for a war. Odysseus went to war in Trojan because Helen was stolen by Paris. Paris took Helen to Troy. Helen was the wife of Menelaus of Sparta. Odysseus went to Troy in order to get Helen back.

Paris, son of king Priam, fell in love with with Helen so Paris took Helen to Troy. 1000 Greek army sailed to Troy to get Helen back. Odysseus spent 10 long years in Troy  to win the war. He won the war and sailed back to Ithaca. On the way he got lost. 

He met Polyphemus the one eyed Cyclops, son of Poseidon. One day Odysseus and his men went to  cyclops’s cave to steal some cheese and butter but the cyclops reaches home. The monster finds out what was going on and the angry monster consumes Odysseus’s men alive. When the cyclops sleeps Odysseus and his men poked a burning wood in the cyclops’s big eye. He faces lots of Troubles and monsters. Some monsters were the cunning sirens, Scylla, the six headed monster and many more.

At last Odysseus reaches home but there was a surprise waiting for him at home. There were more than hundreds of suitors who wanted to win Odysseus’s wife as their wife. Odysseus’s son Telemachus was grown up and saw his father for the first time. Odysseus killed all the suitors and  lived happily ever after.
